Everything you need for class creation

Built by an Australian teacher for Australian schools

Balanced Classes

Smart algorithm distributes academic levels, behaviour, and support needs fairly across every class.

Friend Preferences

Teachers enter friend requests and essential pairs. The algorithm honours relationships while maintaining balance.

Teacher Collaboration

Collect input from current teachers on student metrics and relationships. Everyone contributes to better placements.

Multiple Solutions

Generate up to 5 diverse class configurations. Compare options and choose the best fit for your school.

Easy Export

Download final class lists as PDF. Share with staff and parents with professional formatting.

School Security

Only approved school domains can register. Role-based access keeps student data safe and private.

How it works

1

Create your cohort

Set up a year-level transition group (e.g. Year 5 → Year 6). Import students via CSV or add manually.

2

Teachers add the context

Current teachers enter academic levels, behaviour, friend requests, and must-separate pairs.

3

Generate and compare

The algorithm produces up to 5 balanced class configurations. Pick the best fit and export to PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Teachers can nominate friend preferences and essential pairs per student. The algorithm aims to honour at least one requested friend for every student while preserving overall class balance. Essential pairs are always kept together; incompatibles are always separated.

Yes. Upload a CSV with student names and any existing data (academic levels, behaviour ratings, support flags) and Class Builder maps the columns for you. You can also add students manually.

Yes. Students flagged as ILP (individual learning plan) or EAL (English as an additional language) are distributed across classes so no single class carries a disproportionate load.

Each generation produces up to 5 candidate solutions, ranked by balance score. You can compare them side-by-side and export any of them.

Data is stored securely in Australia. Access is scoped to approved school domains and role-based permissions. No third parties see student records.
